Brewing Legacies

In my travels around the great brewing state of Wisconsin, I have seen many examples of Brewing Legacies that have fallen by our wayside for some reason or another.  Today, as I drove past the old Froedtert Malt plant in Milwaukee, I decided to take a couple of pictures of one such legacy.

Lesaffre et Compagnie (which purchased Froedtert Malt Corporation in 1986),  closed this plant on May 31th, 2003.  In Froedtert’s hayday, it provided malt to Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee, and St. Louis based Anheuser-Busch.  It sits empty, like many other brewing legacies, waiting for a new era to begin…
