Many mornings I awake to venture out on the man-powered machine to find a subtle thirst. I have been devising a method to quench this thirst, to loosen up the muscles and blood. Usually in the morning coffee is appropriate, but on a cool bike ride morning, a beer seems refreshing. So, I decided to combine the two and get myself peddling down the dusty trail.
It started with a stout and made several tasty batches of Coffee Stout. This seemed to predictable, it has been done too many times. I was currently working on my black lager formula,when i thought why not hold back some of the bulk of the stout and have something more light on the body and clean on the finish. So it was done.
For an added fresh hit of coffee I prime with french pressing the priming sugar solution, or add the corn sugar directly into a fresh hot cup of espresso.

1 Healthy Starter of San Francisco Lager Yeast (White Labs #WLP810)
10oz Yeti Peace Coffee cold pressed in 5.5c water added to secondary
1/4c yeti coffee beans esspresso mixed with priming solution.
(or an equal amount in a french press)
